Land Carbon Sink Distribution in Northern Eurasia Is Driven by Climate Change
Abstract Boreal forests are a major contributor to the global land carbon sink under rising CO2 concentrations and a changing climate. Carbon sink estimates for Northern Eurasia from forest inventories, flux mapping, and remote sensing have moved toward convergence over the past decade, although substantial differences remain. Several bottom‐up and top‐

Uncertainties exist in the biosphere–climate feedbacks in the Arctic. Remote and ground measurements play complementary roles in detecting possible changes. A critical next step is identification of key drivers of the global changes for future projections. ABSTRACT Positive biosphere–climate feedbacks are likely to amplify the Arctic warming, yet major

In this study, we used ecological niche models to quantify historical changes in the estimated distribution ranges of the alpine butterfly Colias palaeno and its host plant Vaccinium uliginosum in Japan. The results showed that temperature and host plant occurrence strongly influence the estimated distribution of C. palaeno.

Worldwide Invasions of Centrarchidae: The Dark Side of the Sunfish Family
ABSTRACT Freshwater fish invasions are major drivers of global ecological change, disrupting native biodiversity and ecosystem functions. However, many invasive fish hold significant socioeconomic value, resulting in conflict over their management. Centrarchidae, which are globally distributed and are important for sportfishing and aquaculture, are now
