Contrasted habitat selection among Eurasian curlew populations according to landscape heterogeneity and breeding stage

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 4, May 2026.
This study aimed to quantify the spatio‐temporal use of breeding environments by the Eurasian curlew in 5 contrasting agricultural landscapes. To this end, 64 individuals were tagged with GPS devices to assess their space use according to their breeding stages and define their foraging habitat selection.

Wild pig habitat use impacted by prescribed fire in the William B. Bankhead National Forest, USA

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 4, May 2026.
Natural resource management activities like integrated wild pig control programs and 3–5‐year interval prescribed burning can reduce wild pig activity and habitat but can have an unintended side effect of allowing them to thrive in sensitive and protected areas, where access and tools are restricted.

Persistence and potential of soil organic carbon in nature‐based climate solutions: A review of managed disturbances

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, Volume 8, Issue 3, Page 811-830, May 2026.
Implementing nature‐based climate solutions is important for mitigating climate change, which is a global issue, but requires local adjustments in management practices. Using the association between soil carbon and minerals as a proxy for carbon persistence, we evaluated the effect of different management regimes on soil carbon sequestration and loss ...

Assessment of soil slurry saturation and slurry infiltration in pig slurry storage ponds using electrical resistivity tomography

open access: yesVadose Zone Journal, Volume 25, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
Abstract Effective management of pig slurry in semi‐arid settings is critical to protect soils and aquifers. This study integrates multi‐profile electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) compiled into stitched 3D volumes with a calibration based on modified Archie's law derived from laboratory resistivity–moisture tests to obtain semi‐quantitative soil ...

Influence of Inherited Rifted Margin Architecture on Continental Collision Dynamics

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Continental collision is a key process in lithospheric evolution, driving mountain building, crustal thickening, and supercontinent assembly. Within the Wilson cycle, collision marks the final stage following rifting, ocean spreading, and subduction.
