Endoparasites of the Eurasian Lynx (Lynx lynx) in Finland

Journal of Parasitology, 2013
We sampled 339 fecal samples, 296 intestines, and 82 lungs from 371 lynx hunted during the 2010-2011 season in Finland. The fecal samples were analyzed for endoparasites by a quantitative flotation method, and helminths from intestines were studied morphologically, while lungs were investigated for pulmonary parasites.

Investigations on reproductive physiology in the male Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx)

Theriogenology, 2006
This study characterized (in vivo) morphological and functional parameters of reproductive organs of adult male lynx (n = 3) prior to, during, and after the breeding season (n = 3). Size and morphology of the reproductive tract were monitored by transcutaneous (testes) and transrectal (accessory sex glands) ultrasonography.

Reproductive biology of captive female Eurasian lynx, Lynx lynx

European Journal of Wildlife Research, 2005
Studies on wild Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) have revealed variation in reproduction between areas, years and individuals. In order to explore potential causes for this variation other than food supply, we analysed data from captive lynx, which provide conditions with minimal environmental variation as all were fed ad libitum.

Social play in the development of sibling relations in Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx)

Biology Bulletin, 2014
Social play fulfills an important function in creating and maintaining relations between siblings. However, its relationship with the intralitter social processes is poorly understood. It was noticed that, in Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) litters, sex differences in social play are absent in the first 2-3 months of life.

An 18th century reference to a Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) in Scotland.

Mammal Communications, 2021
Richard Pococke’s Tour of Scotland (1760) seems to provide a record of a breeding population of lynxes (Lynx lynx) in the mountains near Auchencairn in the Southern Uplands of Scotland. This paper evaluates the authenticity and significance of the record.

Serum chemistry and haematology for female Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx)

European Journal of Wildlife Research, 2016
The Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) is a well-studied felid species, but astonishingly, there are no peer-reviewed published blood chemical and haematological values to date. Within this study, 38 blood samples of healthy lynx females were analysed. The results were within the published ranges of the three other lynx species and the domestic cat.

Mortality of reintroduced Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) in Croatia

2008
On March 2nd 2008 we have acknowledged the 35th anniversary of Eurasian lynx reintroduction to Dinaric Mountains. Six animals from Slovakia, released in 1973 in Slovenia, founded one of the most successfully reintroduced European lynx populations. Lack of prey and human prosecution led to extermination of the autochthonous lynx in Croatia around the ...
