Diffusion and Permeation of Deuterium in EUROFER97: Effect of Irradiation and of Implanted Helium [PDF]

open access: yesFusion Science and Technology, 2005
Permeability, diffusivity, and solubility of deuterium in the low-activation martensitic stainless steel EUROFER97 were derived from measurements of gas permeation in the transient and steady-state regimes at temperatures from 100 to 350 deg. C and at pressures from 2 x 10{sup 3} to 2 x 10{sup 5} Pa.

Development of EUROFER97 database and material property handbook

open access: yesFusion Engineering and Design, 2018
Abstract The current paper reports the work of the EUROfusion Material Database and Handbook group within the MAT-EDDI (Materials - Engineering Data and Design Integration) subproject of the EUROfusion consortium. A special emphasis is put on the building of the EUROfusion RAFM steel database accounting around 3000 raw materials data records.

Dose effects in He implanted Eurofer97 steel

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2014
Reduced Activation Ferritic/Martensitic steels are being extensively studied because of their foreseen application in fusion reactors. To reproduce neutron irradiation conditions, Eurofer97 samples were implanted at room temperature with helium ions at energies of 500 keV and 2 MeV and doses of 1x1015-1017 He /cm2. The implantation induced defects were

Effect of irradiation on nanoprecipitation in EM10 alloy - Comparison with Eurofer97

open access: yesJournal of Nuclear Materials, 2020
Abstract Atom Probe Tomography investigations of EM10 and EUROFER alloys after both 1 MeV electrons and 2 MeV Fe2+ ions irradiations at 300 °C and up to doses of 0.6 dpa were performed. SiNiPMn(-Cu) enriched clusters were observed only in EM10 alloy. Phosphorus was found to be necessary for cluster formation.

High cycle fatigue response of grain refined EUROFER97 [PDF]

open access: yes
The present paper has investigated the high cycle fatigue behavior of EUROFER97 steel submitted to a novel process consisting of cold rolling with reduction ratio of 80 % followed by a heat treatment at 650 °C for 1 h.

Influence of thermal annealing and of the substrate on sputter-deposited thin films from EUROFER97 on tungsten

open access: yes, 2023
The modification of sputter-deposited films from EUROFER97 on tungsten during and after annealing were investigated in-situ and ex-situ. The annealing resulted in a densification of the film, formation of large grains, segregation of W at the surface ...

Fracture toughness properties in the transition region of the Eurofer97 tempered martensitic steel

open access: yes
A fracture toughness database obtained on the Eurofer97 steel (25 mm plate, heat 83697) is presented. The material has been tested in the 'as-received' condition in the lower transition region at temperatures ranging from 173 K down to 123 K.

Influence of redeposited tungsten and EUROFER97 layers on deuterium retention in plasma-facing materials [PDF]

open access: yes
Retention of hydrogen isotopes in plasma-facing materials is a key challenge for safety and fuel efficiency of nuclear fusion reactors. In realistic reactor environments, simultaneous processes, such as erosion, redeposition, implantation and outgassing,
