The German Waterpenny case : a paradigm for the emerging common law of Europe [PDF]
Europe is an area with many different jurisdictions. The attempts of the harmonizations of law have focussed on legislated law, but less on the free movement of legal professionals and on understanding of how law is being made in the different ...

The Unconfined Power of European Union Law
Certain features condition when most EU law comes into being. EU laws must compete with other laws for authority. They form part of legal regimes which are partial in scope and can cut across national legal regimes. They justify themselves by reference to a vision of political community which values what individuals do together more than simply their ...

4D Printed Self‐Deploying Bio‐Based Scaffolds for the Regeneration of Endoluminal Tissue
A bilayer self‐deploying tubular C‐shaped scaffold, made of natural polymers and triggerable by humidity, is fabricated via 4D printing for the regeneration of gastro‐intestinal tissue. The choice of the materials and their spatial arrangement is guided by physical and biological evaluation, whereas the geometry of the structure is optimized through ...

Advanced anodic aluminium oxide (AAO) nanostructures incorporate interconnections between the vertical pores, forming a 3D‐AAO nanonetwork that functions as a Bragg reflector. By varying the periodicity of the transverse channels, the light‐matter interaction can be tuneable to enhance their emissivity and passive radiative cooling performance across ...

Extreme Terahertz Nonlinearity of AlGaN/GaN‐Based Grating‐Gate Plasmonic Crystals
Plasmonic crystals based on grating‐gated 2D electron gas in AlGaN/GaN heterostructures provide a platform for strong light‐matter interaction. Pump‐probe experiments revealed strong terahertz nonlinearity leading to 45% increase in transmission at a fluence below 350 nJ cm−2.

Scintillation Response of 0D Cs3Cu2I5 Thin Layers to Light‐ and Heavy‐Ion Irradiation
Driven by increasing interest in uncovering the remarkable photoluminescence quantum yield of Cs3Cu2I5, polycrystalline thin layers are synthesized to investigate its radioluminescence response to energetic ions. Its spectroscopic capability is assessed in a wide range of ion mass and internal excitation processes are explored.
