Formation and structural characterization of a europium(II) mono(scorpionate) complex and a sterically crowded pyrazabole

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2017
The reaction of EuI2(THF)2 with potassium hydrotris(3,5-diisopropylpyrazolyl)borate (K[HB(3,5-iPr2pz)3] (= KTpiPr2, pz = pyrazolyl) in a molar ratio of 1:1.5 resulted in extensive ligand fragmentation and formation of the europium(II) mono(scorpionate ...

Influence of Fuel Ratio and Dopant Concentration on Luminescent Properties of Eu3+‐Doped SnO2

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 4, 24 February 2026.
Eu‐doped SnO2 phosphor powders were prepared using a simple, cost‐effective, solution combustion method. The structural and luminescence properties of the prepared powders were influenced by the fuel type and dopant concentration. The potential applications for these materials are for adding luminescence functionality to transparent conducting oxides ...

Mechanochemically Assisted Synthesis of [EuI2(THF)5]I3 and [EuI2(THF)5][EuI4(THF)2]

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 652, Issue 2, 5 February 2026.
The [EuI2(THF)5]+ cation is observed in the crystal structure of [EuI2(THF)5]I3, which has been obtained by a mechanochemical assisted reaction of Eu metal and iodine in the presence of THF. The mechanochemical reaction of europium metal and iodine in the presence of small amounts of THF leads to an amorphous yellow–brown powder.

Synthesis and Electronic Structure of the Fractionally Occupied Double Perovskite EuTa2O6 with Ordered Europium Vacancies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 10, 2 February 2026.
Two‐dimensional electronic states are the foundation of modern semiconductor technology. Here, we report molecular‐beam epitaxy growth of fractional double perovskite, EuTa2O6. Reciprocal space mapping and transmission electron microscopy confirm a layered ordering of A‐site cations.

Single‐Cell Hyperthermia: Diamond Quantum Thermometry Reveals Thermal Control of Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 8, 6 February 2026.
Photothermal nanodiamonds with quantum sensing capabilities generate lysosome‐confined hyperthermia, enabling simultaneous temperature and radical detection via diamond sensing. This localized thermal and oxidative stress drives pro‐inflammatory (M1) macrophage polarization, revealing a new strategy for precision immunomodulation through subcellular ...

Light‐Induced Precipitation of an Inorganic Phosphate for Direct Writing of Thin Films and Templating Complex Mineral Morphologies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 3, 3 February 2026.
Photoinduced patterning of inorganic materials promises advanced functionality, but often suffers from granular structures. Here, UV‐triggered dephosphorylation is used to guide the precipitation of barium phosphate with spatial control and structural continuity.
