The relaxation rate of europium in europium iron garnet [PDF]

Abstract The relaxation rate of europium ions in europium iron garnet (EulG) was estimated by assuming that the crystal field is modulated by optical phonons. Mixing J = 2 states into the J = 0 and J = 1 states by the static rhombic fields breaks the “triangle selection rule” and makes possible this mechanism.

Europium Palladium Hydrides

The first fully structurally characterized ternary europium palladium hydrides (deuterides) are reported. The most Eu rich compound is Eu(2)PdD(4). Its beta-K(2)SO(4) type structure (space group Pnma, a = 749.47(1) pm, b = 543.34(1) pm, c = 947.91(1) pm, Z = 4) contains tetrahedral 18-electron [PdD(4)](4)(-) complex anions and divalent Eu cations.

Enhancement of Europium Emission Band of Europium Tetracycline Complex in the Presence of Cholesterol

We report here the observation, for the first time, of the enhancement of Europium-Tetracycline complex emission in cholesterol solutions. This enhancement was initially observed with the addition of the enzyme cholesterol oxidase, which produces H(2)O(2), the agent driver of the Europium tetracycline complex, to the solution.

Mössbauer Measurements in Europium-Calcium and Europium-Strontium Alloys

Mössbauer effect measurements have been performed for EuxCa1−x and EuxCa1−x (0≤x≤1) alloys using the 22-keV γ-line in 151Eu. The hyperfine (hf) fields extrapolated to zero europium content are −110 kOe for the EuCa system and −140 kOe for the CuSr system as compared to −150 kOe for the EuBa and EuYb system.
