The diversity and distribution of Lepadellidae (Rotifera: Eurotatoria: Monogononta) of India

The status of diversity of Lepadellidae of India is reviewed based on our studies and the published literature and 42 valid species are reported. These comprise ∼26.0 and 71.0% of the richness of the family known globally and from the Oriental region, respectively, and nearly 10.3% of the Indian Rotifera.

Indian Lecanidae (Rotifera: Eurotatoria: Monogononta) and its distribution

Taxonomic status of the Lecanidae of India is evaluated based on our collections and the published reports, and an annotated check‐list of 83 species is presented. These comprise nearly 41.0% of the global diversity of the taxon and ∼21.0% of the known species of Indian Rotifera.

The genus Testudinella (Eurotatoria : Gnesiotrocha : Testudinellidae) in North-Eastern India

Nine species and subspecies of the genus Testudinella are reported from North-Eastern India. Of these, six are new to India and eight to the North-Eastern region. Remarks are made on their distribution.

Rotifera from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) 2. Further studies on the Eurotatoria including new records

In the first paper of this series, Chengalath and Fernando (1973) dealt with the genus Lecane from Sri Lanka. In all, twenty five species were recorded, of which seventeen species were new records. Two new species were also described. On the present paper the authors deal with the rest of the Eurotatoria. Again they have found many new records.
