Salivary digestive enzymes of the wheat bug, Eurygaster integriceps (Insecta: Hemiptera: Scutelleridae)

open access: greenComptes Rendus. Biologies, 2014
The digestive enzymes from salivary gland complexes (SGC) of Eurygaster integriceps , and their response to starvation and feeding were studied. Moreover, digestive amylases were partially purified and characterized by ammonium sulfate precipitation and gel filtration chromatography.

Benefits and costs of hosting facultative symbionts in plant‐sucking insects: A meta‐analysis

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 30, Issue 11, Page 2483-2494, June 2021., 2021
Abstract Many animals have evolved associations with symbiotic microbes that benefit the host through increased growth, lifespan, and survival. Some interactions are obligate (essential for survival) while others are facultative (usually beneficial but not essential). Not all individuals host all facultative symbionts in a population, and thus there is

Identification of Bacterial Proteins in the Gut of Sunn pest, Eurygaster integriceps [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cell and Molecular Research, 2021
Proteomics is a powerful tool to identify effective proteins in the biochemical reactions of the insect body. Many proteins were reported in the gut lumen and tissues which are essential to complete the physiological role of the alimentary canal of Sunn ...

Characterization of Lecanicillium psalliotae and Akanthomyces muscarium from Sunn pests (Eurygaster spp.) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Sunn pests, which can cause significant yield losses on wheat and barley, are one of the pests whose population levels should be followed. Overwintering areas, which have an important place in the biology of the insect, provide an advantage in the ...
