MORPHOLOGICAL VARIABILITY OF EUSTOMA HYBRIDS OBTAINED FROM INTERSPECIFIC CROSSES BETWEEN EUSTOMA GRANDIFLORUM X EUSTOMA EXALTATUM [PDF]
The morphological characteristics of hybrid lines obtained from interspecific crosses between Eustoma grandiflorum and Eustoma exaltatum were analyzed based on the descriptors reported by UPOV for Eustoma grandiflorum. In the principal component analysis, a variation of 73.70% was obtained within four main components.

Colchicine-induced Polyploidy in Eustoma grandiflorum [PDF]
Tetraploid forms of lisianthus [ Eustoma grandiflorum (Grisebach) Schinners] were produced by applying 0.5% (w/v) aqueous colchicine to seedling apices. The tetraploids had stronger stems and reduced plant stature, which provided better support to flowers than diploids.

SUMMARY Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium) is well known as a photoperiod‐sensitive flowering plant. However, it has also evolved into a temperature‐sensitive ecotype. Low temperature can promote the floral transition of the temperature‐sensitive ecotype, but little is known about the underlying molecular mechanisms.

Pigments in flower stems of lisianthus under different photoselective shade nets
The lisianthus culture is demanded to produce cut flowers and pot vases, grown in a greenhouse using advanced techniques. The present study aimed to evaluate the pigments of different lisianthus cultivars in different photoselective shade nets.

Sodium selenite improves the vase life of Eustoma grandiflorum cut flowers
Previous studies indicated that the antioxidant and water balance capacity played important roles in improving the vase life of cut flowers. As a trace element, selenium (Se) has been proven to play an important role in extending the vase life of lily ...

A New Flavonol Triglycoside from Eustoma grandiflorum [PDF]
A new flavonol triglycoside, kaempferol 3- O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1→6)-(3- O- E- p-coumaroyl)-β-D-galactopyranoside-7- O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside (1: Eustograndifloside A) was isolated from the flower of Eustoma grandiflorum in addition to eight known flavonols (2: kaempferol 3- O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl (1→6)-(4- O- E- p-coumaroyl)-β-D-galactopyranoside-7- O ...

Summary Generalised dose–response curves are essential to understand how plants acclimate to atmospheric CO2. We carried out a meta‐analysis of 630 experiments in which C3 plants were experimentally grown at different [CO2] under relatively benign conditions, and derived dose–response curves for 85 phenotypic traits.

Why flowers close at noon? A case study of an alpine species Gentianopsis paludosa (Gentianaceae)
In this work, we report a repeatable floral closure rhythm, that is, open in the morning but close in early afternoon, first in an alpine species belonging to Gentianaceae. By monitoring the petal movement under treatments of changed environmental factors, detecting the microenvironment changing inside and outside flowers, and measuring the seed ...

Anthocyanins are important pigments for flower color, determining the ornamental and economic values of horticultural plants. As a key enzyme in the biosynthesis of anthocyanidins, dihydroflavonol 4‐reductase (DFR) catalyzes the reduction of dihydroflavonols to generate the precursors for anthocyanidins (i.e., leucoanthocyanidins) and anthocyanins.
