ON MECHANISM OF FORMING OF STRUCTURAL CONSTITUENTS AT CRYSTALLIZATION OF MODIFIED EUTECTIC IN SILUMINS .

open access: yesЛитьë и металлургия, 2010
The mechanism of silumins structure formation on the basis of data of thermal, metallographic, microentgenospectral analysis is discussed. The theoretical conclusion is that crucial role in structure formation of eutectic belongs to Si-phase.

Nonisothermal eutectic crystallization

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1996
A model for the dynamics of nonisothermal eutectic growth is examined in the limit of a spatially uniform but time dependent temperature field. The simpler case of nonisothermal growth is first considered, and approximate solutions are obtained for the crystallization rate for the growth of a single crystallite and for homogeneous nucleation.

Stochastic eutectic growth

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1994
A full phase field model of eutectic growth is proposed, which incorporates the generic features of a eutectic phase diagram and reduces to the sharp-interface model in the appropriate limit. Large scale two-dimensional simulations are presented for the isothermal solidification of a uniformly undercooled eutectic melt, in which the Avrami exponent is ...

Recent progress on liquid metals and their applications

open access: yesAdvances in Physics: X, 2018
Gallium-based liquid metals show excellent thermal and electrical conductivities with low viscosity and non-toxicity. Their melting points are either lower than or close to room temperature, which endows them with additional advantages in comparison to ...

Interface Strengthening of α-Mg/C14–Mg2Ca Eutectic Alloy

open access: yesMetals, 2021
This study investigates the effect of the α/C14 interface on the creep strength of α-Mg/C14–Mg2Ca eutectic alloy at 473 K under a stress of 40 MPa. The α/C14 interface is composed of terraces and steps, with terraces parallel to the (1101)α pyramidal ...
