Polymeric Eutectic System

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
The liquid eutectic system comprising 1:1 menthol:camphor was selected to use as solvent due to it was lowest viscosity. Both menthol and camphor used in this eutectic system have been reported for their many pharmaceutical used. Various polymers were tested for their solubility in this eutectic system.

Eutectic spacing selection in the lead-tin eutectic system

Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 1995
It is well established that the regular lamellar eutectic structure exhibits a limited range of spacings rather than a unique spacing during steady-state growth at constant velocity. The min-imum observed spacing corresponds to the extreme spacing predicted by the Jackson-Hunt (JH) theory.

Eutectic Solidification in Ceramic Systems

Annual Review of Materials Science, 1981
The past two decades have seen an explosive development of composite materials. Considerable research has been devoted to the structure and properties of directionally solidified metallic eutectics. Among the vari ous materials, superalloy eutectics are of highest priority because they are used in the aerospace industry and for advanced turbine blades.

Liquidus curves for eutectic systems

Physics Letters A, 1972
Abstract The liquidus curves of the Na-K system are calculated from conformal solution theory, the input consisting of thermodynamic data for pure Na and K, plus an interchange energy characteristic of the solution.

Eutectic solidification in organic systems

Journal of Crystal Growth, 1986
Formation of eutectic grains, nucleation of eutectic phases, formation of anomalous eutectics and kinetics of eutectic growth have been investigated in organic systems. One of the two phases in which the surface roughening α factor increased by decreasing the liquidus temperature served as the substrate basis on which the eutectic grain grew. The other

Chemistry of organic eutectics (IV). α‐Naphthol‐β‐naphthol eutectic system

Kristall und Technik, 1978
AbstractThe detailed methods of investigating the phase diagram, supercooling, crystallization velocity, microstructure, and diffusion coefficient for the α‐naphthol‐β‐naphthol eutectic system have been discussed. The results are discussed in the light of existing theories describing morphology, nucleation, crystallization kinetics, and diffusion ...

Eutectic systems containing the superconductor Sr2RuO4

Physica C: Superconductivity, 2000
Abstract We have successfully prepared Sr 2 RuO 4 crystals with T c = 1.49 K by optimizing crystal growth conditions with a floating-zone method. In that process, we observed two intriguing eutectic solidification systems: (1) Ru metal embedded in the Sr 2 RuO 4 matrix, and (2) epitaxial-like intergrowth of ferromagnetic SrRuO 3 on Sr 2 RuO 4 .
