Eutectic Systems for Penetration Enhancement

2015
As disease etiologies are becoming more complex and comorbidity more common, the prospect of combining two therapeutic agents in a single topical preparation is increasingly attractive. In spite of this welcoming clinical context, eutectic systems, which are specifically designed to generate highly effective medicines using drug combinations, have not ...

Hydrazine-Water System: The Water-Rich Eutectic

Science, 1964
The melting point and composition of the water-rich eutectic of hydrazine and water have been determined by differential thermal analysis as 193° ± 0.5°K and 27 ± 1 mole percent hydrazine, respectively.

Glycerol eutectics as sustainable solvent systems

Green Chem., 2011
In this work the use of glycerol as a hydrogen bond donor in Deep Eutectic Solvents is studied. The physical properties of choline chloride mixtures with glycerol are quantified and it is shown that eutectic mixtures can circumvent some of the difficulties of using glycerol as a solvent viz. high viscosity and high melting point. The solvent properties

Halo formation in eutectic alloy systems

Metallurgical Transactions, 1970
Halo formation was studied in several faceted-nonfaceted and faceted-faceted eutectic systems. Ascribing halo formation to the amount of thermal, under cooling of the secondary phase in the presence of a primary phase is shown incorrect. Rather it is proposed that halo formation is due to growth rate phenomena of the phases involved.

Eutectic Molten Salt Thermal Storage System

Journal of Hydronautics, 1969
Abstract : An analysis of various thermal storage materials indicated that a eutectic mixture of lithium hydroxide and lithium fluoride would provide relatively high heat capacity for a closed-cycle thermal propulsion system for deep-running underwater vehicles.

Deep eutectic system enhanced oat protein extraction

Journal of Food Science
Abstract Oats are a rich source of plant‐based proteins owing to their nutritional value, diverse functions, and high abundance. However, traditional methods for extracting oat proteins (OPs), such as alkali solution acid precipitation (ASAP), can cause environmental pollution and potentially protein denaturation.

A numerical model for eutectic spacing selection in the CBr4C2Cl6 eutectic system

Journal of Crystal Growth, 1995
Abstract It is well established that the lamellar eutectic structure exhibits a limited range of spacings rather than a unique spacing during steady state growth at a constant growth velocity. The minimum observed spacing corresponds to the extremum spacing predicted by the Jackson and Hunt analysis of eutectic growth.

Diffusionless Crystal Growth in Rapidly Solidifying Eutectic Systems

Physical Review Letters, 2006
Using a local nonequilibrium model of solidification, experiments on rapid eutectic growth are analyzed. An analytical solution of a problem of rapid lamellar eutectic growth under local nonequilibrium conditions in the solute diffusion field is found.

Eutectic Alloy Systems

2012
Abstract This chapter begins by presenting a generic eutectic phase diagram and identifying critical points, lines, and features. It then describes the composition and properties of aluminum-silicon and lead-tin eutectic systems, the characteristics of eutectic morphologies, the solidification and scale of eutectic structures, and the ...
