INVESTIGATION OF EVACUATED TUBE COLLECTORS
International Journal of Solar Energy, 1994The present paper investigates the performance of evacuated tube collectors. A dynamical model is implemented to determine the performance of four different evacuated tube collectors. Multiple regression analysis is used to fit measurements to the dynamical model to identify collector parameters.

Comparative Study of Different Tube Geometries of Evacuated Tube Solar Collector
Journal of Solar Energy Engineering, 2023Abstract This study investigates the thermal performance of an evacuated U-tube solar collector (ETSC) using different tube geometrical configurations. The effect of tube geometry on the overall collector efficiency is numerically analyzed and compared with experimental results.

Degradation of all-glass evacuated solar collector tubes
Solar Energy Materials, 1985Accelerated ageing studies have been carried out for four types of all-glass evacuated collector tubes, two of which are commercially available. Commercially available collector tubes incorporating a sputtered stainless steel-carbon on copper selective surface have good surface and vacuum stability.

Selective absorbing surface for evacuated solar collector tubes
Renewable Energy, 1999Abstract The absorptance of AlN-Al(absorbing coating)/Al solar spectrum(0.34 ≈ 2.5 μ m) selective absorbing surface, containing 8-layer AlN-Al composite materials and with distinctive or non-boundaries between the layers, deposited by sputtering technology and heat-treated at 400 °C (60min) is about 0.95 and its thermal emittance is close to 0.07 ≈ 0.

Solar thermal networks operating with evacuated-tube collectors
Energy, 2018Abstract This paper addresses the design and specification of solar collector networks for the capture of solar radiation and its transformation into thermal energy for use in low energy intensity processes. All glass evacuated tube solar collectors are the type of technology considered in this work.

Renewable energy powered evacuated tube collector refrigerator system
Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for Global Change, 2013This article presents a numerical study of an Evacuated Tube Collector (ETC) based Ammonia-Water absorption refrigeration system. This system utilizes solar energy as an energy source and does not depend on conventional energy sources for its operation. The present system involves the use of hot water as an energy carrier for generator in an absorption

Performance Analysis of Solar Evacuated Tube Collector
Advanced Materials Research, 2013The high temperature operation of Evacuated Tube Collectors (ETC) and their very low radiant heat losses make them ideal for solar water heating, solar space heating, desiccant air conditioning, thermal driven cooling and industrial process heating applications. The work temperature of common ETC can reach 100~ 250°C. The vacuum tube envelope minimizes

Thermal analysis of an evacuated tube collector module
Solar & Wind Technology, 1988Abstract In this paper an empirical relation for finding out an overall heat loss coefficient in the case of an evacuated tubular collector has been developed has all possible range of variables and values compared with the analytically calculated values. A good agreement between the two has been obtained.

Thermal modeling of evacuated tube solar air collectors
Solar Energy, 2015Abstract This paper presents a one dimensional thermal model of a solar evacuated tube open at both ends under transient conditions. Variations of fluid mass flow rate, ambient temperature, solar radiation, and wind speed are accounted for. The semi-analytical model relies on the energy conservation equation for small control volumes along the ...

Thermal performance of evacuated tube heat pipe solar collector
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2016The high fossil energy consumption not only causes the scarcity of energy but also raises problems of global warming. Increasing needs of fossil fuel could be reduced through the utilization of solar energy by using solar collectors. Indonesia has the abundant potential for solar energy, but non-renewable energy sources still dominate energy ...
