We study the adsorption behavior of a highly charged rodlike polyelectrolyte approaching an oppositely charged planar wall in an unbounded electrolyte solution. The grand potential, the entropy, and the total number of screening particles are calculated as functions of the rod-wall distance, using input parameters that are typical of a DNA-molecule and

Evaporation of aluminium by graphite evaporator
Vacuum, 1959The desirable properties of graphite for evaporation of aluminium were determined as follows: 1 Apparent density > 1.80 g/cm3; 2 True density > 2.15 g/cm3; 3 Ashes < 0.05%. The destruction of graphite usually occurs at 1200°–1300°C but it can be prevented by heating it at above 1500°C.

THE movement of unchanged DDT from treated crops into the atmosphere has been suggested to contribute to the widespread contamination of the environment by this substance1. In field conditions, 50% of DDT applied to the surface of soil has been found to disappear in 16–20 weeks (ref.

Evaporation of nanofluid in a microgrooved evaporator
2018The study of Nanofluids is an emerging field of research in the past decade. Nanofluid is a mixture of liquid and solid phase nanosized particles which have shown high thermal properties compared to the base fluid. Many researches have shown that nanofluids have improved thermal properties such as thermal conductivity compared with the base fluid, and ...

A simple kinetic model is employed to investigate nonequilibrium evaporation from a liquid. Molecules are assumed to evaporate into a (one-sided) Maxwellian velocity distribution at the liquid surface. Molecules reaching the surface from the vapor are assumed to form part of an ellipsoidal velocity distribution.
