Evaporation and Transpiration

1969
Evaporation is important in all water resource studies. It affects the yield of river basins, the necessary capacity of reservoirs, the size of pumping plant, the consumptive use of water by crops and the yield of underground supplies, to name only a few of the factors affected by it.

Potential Evaporation as a Manifestation of Regional Evaporation

Water Resources Research, 1969
The temperature and humidity of the lower atmosphere are treated as causes of evaporation from a small continuously moist area and as effects of evaporation from a large area with variable moisture supply. This leads to the formulation of a model in which the sum of the regional and potential evaporation is equal to the evaporation equivalent of the ...

Note on Evaporation

Journal of Applied Physics, 1960
A simple kinetic model is employed to investigate nonequilibrium evaporation from a liquid. Molecules are assumed to evaporate into a (one-sided) Maxwellian velocity distribution at the liquid surface. Molecules reaching the surface from the vapor are assumed to form part of an ellipsoidal velocity distribution.

Evaporation of silica

Vacuum, 1951

Thermal Evaporation

2007
Publisher Summary The bulk of aluminum evaporation is done by passing a current through an intermetallic boat, thus heating it up and simultaneously feeding a wire of aluminum against the hot surface of the boat. The aluminum, on touching the surface, melts and if the wire feed-rate is high enough it forms a pool of molten aluminum that steadily ...

Systematics of evaporation

Zeitschrift für Physik D Atoms, Molecules and Clusters, 1991
Beginning with rather basic principles, general relations are obtained for evaporative rate constants. These are established both as a function of energy and of temperature. In parallel with this, expressions are developed for the kinetic energy distribution of the separating species.

Evaporation of nanofluid in a microgrooved evaporator

2018
The study of Nanofluids is an emerging field of research in the past decade. Nanofluid is a mixture of liquid and solid phase nanosized particles which have shown high thermal properties compared to the base fluid. Many researches have shown that nanofluids have improved thermal properties such as thermal conductivity compared with the base fluid, and ...
