Characterisation of electromagnetic propagation inside the maritime evaporation duct at x-band and findings on the meteorology of duct formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Radio wave propagation over the ocean at frequencies above about 1 GHz differs from that over land due to the effect of a stratified layer just above the sea's surface known as the evaporation duct.

Risk stratification and anal cancer screening in immunocompetent women with genital HPV: Value of multicentric HSIL and performance of HPV‐based screening

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
What's New? Anal squamous cell carcinoma (ASCC) incidence is increasing, with most cases occurring in immunocompetent women. ASCC risk is linked in particular to genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and HPV‐associated high‐grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSILs).

Hysteroscopy metroplasty for partial septate uterus: Just a matter of infertility?

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective The primary objective of this study is to assess the impact of hysteroscopic metroplasty on symptom relief, including dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, and menstrual blood flow in women with partial uterine septa (U2a class). Additionally, the study aims to investigate potential correlations between clinical and ultrasonographic ...

Air-Sea Interaction and the Spatial Variability of the Surface Evaporation Duct in a Coastal Environment

open access: yes, 2000
Aircraft observations are presented of the horizontal variability in the depth of the surface evaporation duct and the relationship with the mesoscale structure of air-sea interaction processes. The 2-dimensional fields of near-surface wind, stress, wind-

Ginseng polysaccharides prevent mastitis through Lactobacillus murinus‐derived deoxycholic acid and TGR5 signaling

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Prebiotic Ginseng polysaccharides (GP) alleviate mastitis through selective enrichment of gut L. murinus, which elevates its anti‐inflammatory metabolite deoxycholic acid (DCA). Circulating DCA engages mammary epithelial TGR5 receptors, triggering the cAMP–PKA pathway to suppress NF‐κB/NLRP3‐mediated inflammation.

IPILT–OHPL: An Over-the-Horizon Propagation Loss Prediction Model Established by Incorporating Prior Information Into the LSTM–Transformer Structure

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The evaporation duct is a prevalent atmospheric structure in the marine lower troposphere with significant regional nonuniformity. This structure can trap radio waves inside its layer and enable them to propagate over the horizon with less loss ...

Comparison of evaporation duct models to compute duct height over Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal

open access: yes, 2002
155-158Various models exist that calculate evaporation duct height in terms of directly measureable meteorological parameters in the surface layer over the sea-surface.

Spatiotemporal Characteristics of the Evaporation Duct in the Kuroshio Extension

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series
Abstract The evaporation duct over the sea affects the propagation of electromagnetic waves, impacts the performance of electromagnetic systems accordingly, such as the shipborne radars. In order to reveal the spatiotemporal variations of the evaporation duct in the Kuroshio Extension (KE) region, where is one of the most intense air-sea
