Soil amendment effects on field‐saturated and unsaturated hydraulic properties of sodic soils

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Soil sodicity degrades soil structure and restricts water movement by promoting clay swelling, dispersion, and surface sealing, thereby reducing infiltration and hydraulic conductivity. This study aims to evaluate the effects of four soil amendments (elemental sulfur, gypsum, compost, and humate) on the hydraulic conductivity of sodic soils ...

Desalinization and desodification efficiencies of phosphogypsum and leaching water in saline–sodic soils of Kessem, Ethiopia

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Soil salinity and sodicity severely limit agricultural productivity in the Awash Basin of Ethiopia, demanding innovative reclamation strategies. This study evaluated the efficiency of phosphogypsum (PG) amendment at varying loadings under intermittent leaching using pore volume for saline–sodic clay loam soils at Kessem Sugar Estate, Ethiopia.

Early evolutionary history of the seed

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 101, Issue 3, Page 1511-1553, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The seed is an essential stage in the life history of gymnospermous and angiospermous plants, facilitating both their survival and dispersal. We reappraise knowledge of the evolutionary history of the gymnospermous seed, from its origin in the late Devonian through to the well‐known end‐Permian extinctions – an interval encompassing the ...

Experimental Investigation of Burning Liquids in Reduced Oxygen

open access: yesFire and Materials, Volume 50, Issue 4, Page 448-459, June 2026.
ABSTRACT The effects of oxygen concentration on combustion of gases have been investigated on fundamental levels in several studies. However, the same type of fundamental studies has not been made for liquid or solid fuels due to complex relationships between flame structure and changing mass loss rates (MLR).

Evaluating the Influence of Flaxseed Oil Against Docosahexaenoic Acid on Cancer Antigen CA15‐3, Biochemical and Histopathological Parameters of DMBA‐Induced Mammary Tumors Female Albino Wistar Rats

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
Flaxseed oil and docosahexaenoic acid administered to female Wistar rats with DMBA‐induced breast cancer help increase the HDL cholesterol and significantly reduce the CA15‐3, AST, ALT, LDL, and creatinine levels of rats compared to the negative control group. They also exhibited a protective effect on organs from histopathological data.
