An evaporation duct prediction model coupled with the MM5

Acta Oceanologica Sinica, 2015
Evaporation duct is an abnormal refractive phenomenon in the marine atmosphere boundary layer. It has been generally accepted that the evaporation duct prominently affects the performance of the electronic equipment over the sea because of its wide distribution and frequent occurrence. It has become a research focus of the navies all over the world. At

Evaporation-Induced Clogging of an Artificial Sweat Duct

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2020
Metal-based antiperspirants have been in use for centuries; however, there is an increasing consumer demand for a metal-free alternative that works effectively. Here, we develop an artificial sweat duct rig and demonstrate an alternative, metal-free approach to antiperspiration.

Simulation of the effects of evaporation ducts on maritime wireless communication

Wireless Networks, 2021
This paper describes a tool created to simulate the effects of evaporation ducts on wireless communication networks which are close to the sea surface. The tool is an extension of the ns-3 network simulator and implements two propagation loss models: Two Ray, which models reflection effects; and Three Ray, which models the effects of both reflection ...

Model of evaporation duct

2018 Ural Symposium on Biomedical Engineering, Radioelectronics and Information Technology (USBEREIT), 2018
This paper investigates the phenomenon of an evaporation duct and the possibility of waves to propagate inside it. This phenomenon arises as a result of permittivity gradient in the space above the water surface. The model representing the evaporation duct as a multi-layer structure is suggested.
