On micro-bead mechanics with actin filaments
Experiments have been performed using microscopic beads to probe the small scale mechanics of actin solutions. We show that that there are a number of regimes possible as a function of the size of the probing particle.

Relativistic Coulomb Problem: Analytic Upper Bounds on Energy Levels [PDF]
The spinless relativistic Coulomb problem is the bound-state problem for the spinless Salpeter equation (a standard approximation to the Bethe--Salpeter formalism as well as the most simple generalization of the nonrelativistic Schr\"odinger formalism ...

Prevalence of Accessory Renal Artery in Aortic Aneurysms
INTRODUCTION: Open surgical procedures and endovascular aortic procedures are the most feared renal injuries in abdominal aortic surgery. The presence of renal anomalies and clear localization during aneurysm repair brings surgical success.

Open Surgical Repair of a True Right Axillary Artery Aneurysm With a Reversed Cephalic Vein Bypass
Background Axillary artery aneurysm is a rare vascular pathology, constituting less than 0.5% of all peripheral arterial aneurysms. Their clinical significance lies in the potential for thromboembolic events, progressive enlargement with rupture, or compression of adjacent neurovascular structures.

Gutzwiller variational theory for the Hubbard model with attractive interaction [PDF]
We investigate the electronic and superconducting properties of a negative-U Hubbard model. For this purpose we evaluate a recently introduced variational theory based on Gutzwiller-correlated BCS wave functions.

Introduction Thoracic aortic aneurysm poses significant diagnostic and surgical challenges. Over time, aneurysms may enlarge, risking rupture or dissection. Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is a minimally invasive procedure to treat these aneurysms.

Foreign exchange risk premia: from traditional to state-space analyses [PDF]
This paper examines foreign exchange risk premia from simple univariate regressions to the state-space method. The adjusted traditional regressions properly figure out the existence and time-evolving property of the risk premia.

Superconductivity in the doped bilayer Hubbard model
We study by the Gutzwiller approximation the melting of the valence bond crystal phase of a bilayer Hubbard model at sufficiently large inter-layer hopping.
