Excited States of Even-Even Nuclei

Physical Review, 1952
A general survey of excited states of even-even nuclei yields the following results: The $n\mathrm{th}$ excited state has usually a spin $I\ensuremath{\le}2n$. For $n=1$, the assignment $I=2+(\mathrm{even}\mathrm{parity})$ is compatible with experimental results for 66 out of 68 nuclei investigated. For $n=2$, of 26 nuclei investigated, about one-third

Finding Even Cycles Even Faster

SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, 1994
We describe efficient algorithms for finding even cycles in undirected graphs. Our main results are the following: (i) For every $k \geq 2$, there is an $O(V^2)$ time algorithm that decides whether an undirected graph $G=(V,E)$ contains a simple cycle of length $2k$, and finds one if it does.

Even-Even Intermolecular Multicentric Reactions

1978
Ionic bicentric reactions constitute a most important class of organic reactions. Typical cases involve initial addition of a nucleophile (N−) or electrophile (E+) to an unsaturated system. The resulting adduct may then eliminate a chemical group giving rise to product formation. Typical examples are given below.

Pair Excitations in Even-Even Nuclei

Communications in Theoretical Physics, 2000
A charge exchange term is added to the effective interaction in treating eveneven nuclei with shape coexistence. The energy spectra and some of the E2 transition rates are calculated for 112,114Cd, 114,116Sn and 118,120Te nuclei. The inclusion of this new term helps to improve an agreement with experimental data.

Even Pairs

2001
Two nonadjacent vertices x and y in a graph G form an even pair if every induced path between them has an even number of edges. Even pairs have become an imprtant tool for proving that certain classes of graphs are perfect and for designing optimization algorithms on special classes of perfect graphs. This chapter surveys results of these types. It also

System of Levels in Even-Even Nuclei

Physical Review Letters, 1959
The existence of a system of levels in even-even nuclei whose energies are related by an empirically determined law which seems to be applicable throughout the nuclear chart is investigated. Experimental energy ratios with their errors are tubulated for 29 elements. (A.C.)

Intrinsic Excitation of Even-Even Nuclei

Physical Review, 1963
Intrinsic excitations of the rotational levels of even-even nuclei and the intrinsic structure of the wave functions are investigated. The rotational levels of negative parity are treated on the same basis as the levels of positive parity. The experimental energy levels are analyzed in order to obtain information about the intrinsic excitation in ...
