Event-based process monitoring

Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, 2007
This article presents an efficient Intelligent Supervision System (ISS) architecture for the monitoring of a plant. The ISS detects relevant events which are later used to identify the state of the plant. The ISS layered structure implements the sliding window paradigm to detect significative events from measured signals.

Event-based GPC for multivariable processes

2015 International Conference on Event-based Control, Communication, and Signal Processing (EBCCSP), 2015
In this work, a practical event-based framework for multivariable processes is introduced. The developed control algorithm is based on a Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) algorithm suitable for MIMO systems. The most important advantage of the proposed control scheme is the adaptability of control actions to process disturbances and process ...

Low-Throughput Event-Based Image Sensors and Processing

2023 Design, Automation & Test in Europe Conference & Exhibition (DATE), 2023
This paper presents new kinds of image sensors based on TFS (Time to First Spike) pixels and DVS (Dynamic Vision Sensor) pixels, which take advantage of non-uniform sampling and redundancy suppression to reduce the data throughput. The DVS pixels only detect a luminance variation, while TFS pixels quantized luminance by measuring the required time to ...

A process-oriented event-based programming language

Proceedings of the 6th ACM International Conference on Distributed Event-Based Systems, 2012
We present the first version of PEPL, a declarative Process-oriented Event-based Programming Language based on the recently introduced Dynamic Condition Response (DCR) Graphs model. DCR Graphs allow for specification, distributed execution and verification of pervasive, event-based workflow and business processes by declaring condition, response ...

Event-Based Monitoring of Process Execution Violations

2011
Process-aware information systems support business operations as they are typically defined in a normative process model. Often these systems do not directly execute the process model, but provide the flexibility to deviate from the normative model. This paper proposes amethod for monitoring control-flow deviations during process execution.

An Event-Based Framework for Process Inference

Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2011
We focus on a class of models used for representing the dynamics between a discrete set of probabilistic events in a continuous-time setting. The proposed framework offers tractable learning and inference procedures and provides compact state representations for processes which exhibit variable delays between events.

Event-Based Business Process Editor and Simulator

2011
The growing of business market dictates new requirements of agility to the business process environment. An event-driven approach can deal with this issue since an event can be defined as a significant change in the state of a system or an environment.

On the Stability of an Event-based PI Controller for FOPDT processes

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2012
This paper deals with the stability of an event-based proportional-integral controller. In particular, necessary and sufficient conditions on the controller parameters for the existence of equilibrium points without limit cycles are given for a first-order-plus-dead-time process.

Complex Event Processing for Event-Based Process Querying

2019
Process querying targets the filtering and transformation of business process representations, such as event data recorded by information systems. This paper argues for the application of models and methods developed in the general field of Complex Event Processing (CEP) for process querying. Specifically, if event data is generated continuously during
