Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Event-B code generation: type extension with theories [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The Event-B method is a formal modelling approach; our interest is the final step, of generating code for concurrent programs, from Event-B. Our Tasking Event-B tool integrates Event-B to facilitate code generation. The theory plug-in allows mathematical

Investigating the triangular relationship between Temporary event workforce, event employment businesses and event organisers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Purpose This study aims to examine issues of talent management (TM) in events. Specifically, it investigates the triangular relationship that exists amongst temporary event workforces, event employment businesses (EEBs) and event organisers (EOs ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Event-B model decomposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Two methods have been identified in the DEPLOY project for Event-B model decomposition: the shared variable decomposition (called A-style decomposition), and the shared event decomposition (or B-style decomposition).

Formal modelling for Ada implementations: tasking Event-B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper describes a formal modelling approach, where Ada code is automatically generated from the modelling artefacts. We introduce an implementation-level specification, Tasking Event-B, which is an extension to Event-B.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Towards the Composition of Specifications in Event-B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The development of a system can start with the creation of a specification. Following this viewpoint, we claim that often a specification can be constructed from the combination of specifications which can be seen as composition.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
