Stereo Co-capture System for Recording and Tracking Fish with Frame- and Event Cameras

open access: yes, 2022
This work introduces a co-capture system for multi-animal visual data acquisition using conventional cameras and event cameras. Event cameras offer multiple advantages over frame-based cameras, such as a high temporal resolution and temporal redundancy ...

Orbital Geometry‐Governed Response of Pressure‐Tunable Quantum Defects in hBN

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Defects in hBN act as ultrasensitive quantum manometers when the energy of the intradefect optical transitions is modified by lattice compression. The orbital geometry of the electron wave functions governs how electron hopping and Coulomb interactions react uniquely to the reduction of the van der Waals gap and in‐plane compression, leading to robust ...

Asynchronous Blob Tracker for Event Cameras

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Robotics
Event-based cameras are popular for tracking fast-moving objects due to their high temporal resolution, low latency, and high dynamic range. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for tracking event blobs using raw events asynchronously in real time.

Exciton Binding Energy of Phosphorescent Emitter Molecules in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Energy level alignment is key to efficient OLED design, yet determining LUMO energies remains challenging. A methodology based on field‐induced dissociation and kinetic Monte Carlo simulations is presented to extract LUMO energies of iridium‐based phosphorescent emitters from their exciton binding energy.

ESIM: an Open Event Camera Simulator

open access: yes, 2018
Event cameras are revolutionary sensors that work radically differently from standard cameras. Instead of capturing intensity images at a fixed rate, event cameras measure changes of intensity asynchronously, in the form of a stream of events, which encode per-pixel brightness changes.

Mechanoluminescent HOF Nanotransducers Enabled Sono‐Optogenetics in Parkinsonian Rats

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a mechanoluminescent system utilizing porous hydrogen‐bonded organic frameworks (HOFs) as a toolkit for focused ultrasound‐triggered, non‐invasive light delivery to the deep brain in rats. This approach enables the specific activation of PV‐GPe neurons in dopamine‐depleted Parkinson's disease rat models, resulting in a comparable alleviation
