Visualization using colour: Visual presentation of events in particle physics
This paper applies a model of colour vision to achieve optimal use of colour in a software system that visualizes the results of experiments in high energy physics. It shows how the elements of the visualization were designed and provides details of why particular colours were chosen. By grounding these findings in psychological research. it is able to

We explore signature-changing emergent geometries in a BEC; specifically analogues of signature change from Euclidean to Lorentzian regions. In our BEC-based analogue model, signature change is achieved via a change in atomic interactions from repulsive to attractive. The particle production resulting from a finite-duration Euclidean-signature event is

Modern particle physics experiments observing collisions of particle beams generate large amounts of data. Complex trigger and data acquisition systems are built to select on line the most interesting events and write them to persistent storage. The final stage of this selection process nowadays often happens on large computer clusters.

This paper discusses Single Event Effect (SEE) mitigation techniques in readout ASICs for particle detectors in High Energy Physics (HEP) experiments. High radiation environment of such experiments results in necessity to use the SEE mitigation techniques to preserve the proper functionality of the ASIC in radiation environment.

The FLUKA Monte Carlo code has been widely applied and benchmarked in recent years to problems related to Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCR) and Solar Energetic Particle (SEP) events. Applications range from fundamental cosmic ray and neutrino physics, to doses to commercial aircraft and space radiation issues in low orbit or in deep space. The main results of

The sizes of tracks of events of neutrinoless double-beta decay in a Germanium detector depend on particle physics and nuclear physics parameters such as neutrino mass, right-handed current parameters, etc., and nuclear matrix elements. In this paper for the first time Monte Carlo simulations of neutrino-accompanied ($2\ensuremath{\nu}\ensuremath{\beta}

A fast Monte Carlo event generator for particle physics
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section A: Accelerators, Spectrometers, Detectors and Associated Equipment, 1986Abstract The principal component analysis is applied to a data sample, with the aim of retaining the smallest number of variables necessary to adequately describe the data. We find that in a particular example, of the initial 20 variables necessary to fully describe the data, only 10 principal components suffice to determine their structure.
