Loan Rate Stickiness: Theory and Evidence [PDF]

open access: yes
Financial deregulation in the 1980s saw the lifting of regulations on interest rates charged by banks. In general, lending rates now respond more quickly to changes in banks’ cost of funds than they did in the regulated period.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Outgrowing Resource Dependence: Theory and Evidence [PDF]

open access: yes
Many policy makers are concerned about dependence on resource exports. This paper examines three changes that reduce this dependence: (i) accumulation of capital and skills; (ii) changes in protection policy, particularly reductions in the burden of ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Identifying vital nodes algorithm in social networks fusing higher-order information

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2019
Identifying vital nodes is a basic problem in complex network research. The existing theoretical framework, mainly considered from the lower-order structure of node-based and edge-based relations often ignores important factors such as interactivity and ...

Information Fusion and Decision-Making Utilizing Additional Permutation Information

open access: yesMathematics
The theory of multi-source information fusion plays a pivotal role in decision-making, especially when handling uncertain or imprecise information. Among the existing frameworks, evidence theory has proven effective for integrating diverse information ...

Bureaucratic Minimal Squawk: Theory and Evidence [PDF]

open access: yes
Regulators appointed on finite contracts have an incentive to signal their worth to the job market. This paper shows that, if contracts are sufficiently short, this can result in "minimal squawk" behaviour.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
