Anatomy of spinal CSF loss in the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis)

India ink introduced into the cranial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) compartment of Alligator diffuses along the spinal cord and exits the spinal compartment using perineural flow, resulting in a prominent “ink cuff” forming at the base of the spinal nerve. In Alligator, the region of the ink cuff is drained by a small lymphatic vessel.

Joint function in marmosets and tamarins: Insights from computational modeling of hip extensor muscles

This pilot study uses computational modeling to analyze five hip extensor muscles in four Callitrichidae species, aiming to identify adaptations to different leaping behaviors. Muscle topology was reconstructed from microCT scans to model instantaneous muscle moment arms and muscle strains during hip extension.
