Protection of Incapacitated Persons: Evolution of Law and Fundamental Rights
The evolution of medical, social and economic sciences and, more generally, of reasoning has profoundly changed the relationship between society and people with disabilities: these persons have turned, from recipients of social protection and care into ...

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Emergence, Evolution and Consolidation of Labor Law
Labor Law arose from the need to provide protection to the objectively weak part of the employment relationship: The worker. However, how did Labor Law originated and inwhich way did it acquire its protective nature?

Like any other normative act, the Criminal Code must respond to the need of being in line with the evolution of society and when this evolution requires the adoption of a new one, there is, in practical terms, the situation in which the intervention of

The Dynamics of Common Law Evolution [PDF]
In Commonwealth Bank of Australia v. Barker [2014] HCA 32 (Barker) the High Court of Australia held that the implied term of mutual trust and confidence was not part of the law of the employment contract in Australia. This article considers the impact that the decision will have on the position of employees at common law and on the way that the law is ...

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

The Coloniality and Evolution of African Customary Law
African customary law (ACL) is an important legal system that regulates the lives of many people. The colonial origins of this body of law meant that it hasn’t always served the justice needs of Africans.

A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

The temperature dependence of fatigue behavior in nickel‐based superalloys is investigated through high‐resolution measurements of plastic localization. While increasing temperature reduces localization and enhances fatigue performance in René 88DT, Inconel 718 exhibits a sharp degradation at intermediate temperature due to intensified slip ...

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation
