Discrimination between evolution operators
Under broad conditions, evolutions due to two different Hamiltonians are shown to lead at some moment to orthogonal states. For two spin-1/2 systems subject to precession by different magnetic fields the achievement of orthogonalization is demonstrated for every scenario but a special one.

On operator growth and emergent Poincaré symmetries
We consider operator growth for generic large-N gauge theories at finite temperature. Our analysis is performed in terms of Fourier modes, which do not mix with other operators as time evolves, and whose correlation functions are determined by their two ...

We develop a geometric approach to operator growth and Krylov complexity in many-body quantum systems governed by symmetries. We start by showing a direct link between a unitary evolution with the Liouvillian and the displacement operator of appropriate ...

Local operator entanglement in spin chains
Understanding how and whether local perturbations can affect the entire quantum system is a fundamental step in understanding non-equilibrium phenomena such as thermalization.

Parametric oscillator in a Kerr medium: evolution of coherent states
We study the temporal evolution of a coherent state under the action of a parametric oscillator and a nonlinear Kerr-like medium. We make use of the interaction picture representation and use an exact time evolution operator for the time independent part

Remarks on the operator-norm convergence of the Trotter product formula [PDF]
We revise the operator-norm convergence of the Trotter product formula for a pair {A,B} of generators of semigroups on a Banach space. Operator-norm convergence holds true if the dominating operator A generates a holomorphic contraction semigroup and B ...

Time evolution after double trace deformation
In this paper, we consider double trace deformation to single CFT2, and study time evolution after the deformation. The double trace deformation we consider is nonlocal: composed of two local operators placed at separate points.
