Optimal control problem and its solution by grey wolf optimizer algorithm

open access: yesRUDN Journal of Engineering Research, 2018
The paper is devoted to a numerical method for solving the optimal control problem. The main approach to the numerical solution of the optimal control problem is the reduction of the optimal control problem to the problem of nonlinear programming and its

Evolutionary program in sociology [PDF]

open access: yesSocioloski pregled, 2009
The paper discusses possibilities of evolutionary program in sociology that was neglected for the most part of the 20th century. The reasons for this situation were political, ideological and intellectual. It is argued that sociology can prosper only through intellectual cooperation with evolutionary biology, because Neodarwinian paradigm is one of the

Feasibility of a ctDNA multigenic panel for non‐small‐cell lung cancer early detection and disease surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Plasma‐based detection of actionable mutations is a promising approach in lung cancer management. Analysis of ctDNA with a multigene NGS panel identified TP53, KRAS, and EGFR as the most frequently altered, with TP53 and KRAS in treatment‐naïve patients and TP53 and EGFR in previously treated patients.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Memory-Based Evolutionary Algorithms for Nonlinear and Stochastic Programming Problems

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In this paper, we target the problems of finding a global minimum of nonlinear and stochastic programming problems. To solve this type of problem, we propose new approaches based on combining direct search methods with Evolution Strategies (ESs) and ...

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Strength through diversity: how cancers thrive when clones cooperate

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumor heterogeneity can offer direct benefits to the tumor through cooperation between different clones. In this review, Kuiken et al. discuss existing evidence for clonal cooperativity to identify overarching principles, and highlight how novel technological developments could address remaining open questions.

A Genetic Programming-Based Low-Level Instructions Robot for Realtimebattle

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
RealTimeBattle is an environment in which robots controlled by programs fight each other. Programs control the simulated robots using low-level messages (e.g., turn radar, accelerate).

Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...
