Non-uniform Braneworld Stars: an Exact Solution

open access: yes, 2008
The first exact interior solution to Einstein's field equations for a static and non-uniform braneworld star with local and non-local bulk terms is presented.

Exterior and interior metrics with quadrupole moment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present the Ernst potential and the line element of an exact solution of Einstein's vacuum field equations that contains as arbitrary parameters the total mass, the angular momentum, and the quadrupole moment of a rotating mass distribution.

DELP Treatment on Vision and Retinal Microcirculation in Patients With Acute Ischemic Stroke: Report of Five Cases and Literature Review

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The delipid extracorporeal lipoprotein filter from plasma (DELP) treatment can effectively reduce blood lipid, increase blood flow, and improve neurological deficits in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). However, its effect on vision and retinal microcirculation in stroke patients has never been reported.

Periodic solitons of Davey Stewartson Kadomtsev Petviashvili equation in (4+1)-dimension

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
The aim of this paper is to study new exact solutions Davey–Stewartson–Kadomtsev–Petviashvili (DSKP) equation. We use modified tanh method along associated with new Ricatti equation.

Exact Solutions for Loewner Evolutions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2004
In this note, we solve the Loewner equation in the upper half-plane with forcing function xi(t), for the cases in which xi(t) has a power-law dependence on time with powers 0, 1/2 and 1. In the first case the trace of singularities is a line perpendicular to the real axis. In the second case the trace of singularities can do three things.

A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Exact Numerical Solution of the BCS Pairing Problem

open access: yes, 2004
We propose a new simulation computational method to solve the reduced BCS Hamiltonian based on spin analogy and submatrix diagonalization. Then we further apply this method to solve superconducting energy gap and the results are well consistent with ...

Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)
