Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Exact vacuum solution with Hopf structure in general relativity

An exact solution to the vacuum Einstein equations is presented, whose structure is based on the Hopf fibration. The solution employs a geodesic null vector field that defines a twisting congruence and appears in the metric in Kerr-Schild form. This solution is of Petrov type D and involves two parameters. Liouville solution in General Relativity with a scalar field

New one parameter family of exact solutions in General Relativity with a scalar field has been found. The metric is of Liouville type which admits complete separation of variables in the geodesic Hamilton–Jacobi equation.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Reduced vascular leakage correlates with breast carcinoma T regulatory cell infiltration but not with metastatic propensity

Quadratic curvature terms and deformed Schwarzschild–de Sitter black hole analogues in the laboratory

Sound waves on a fluid stream, in a de Laval nozzle, are shown to correspond to quasinormal modes emitted by black holes that are physical solutions in a quadratic curvature gravity with cosmological constant.
