Exact Three-Variable Solutions of the Field Equations of General Relativity
Physical Review, 1959In order to trace out with more understanding the consequences of general relativity it is advantageous to have exact solutions of Einstein's field equations which show more detail than the familiar solutions with their high symmetry. In the present investigation, based on the method of separation of variables, all solutions of the field equations for ...

The problem of exact interior solutions for rotating rigid bodies in general relativity
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1992The (3+1) dyadic formalism for timelike congruences is applied to derive interior solutions for stationary, axisymmetric, rigidly rotating bodies. In this approach the mathematics is formulated in terms of three-space-covariant, first-order, vector-dyadic, differential equations for a and Ω, the acceleration and angular velocity three-vectors of the ...

A new class of exact solutions in general relativity representing perfect fluid balls
Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1993In this paper is presented a new class of spherically symmetric analytic solutions in canonical coordinates in general relativity which corresponds to causal models of perfect fluid balls. Tolman’s IV solution is a member of this class. Two new solutions belonging to this class have been studied here in detail.

New exact cylindrical solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations of general relativity
Physics Letters A, 1979Abstract We find new exact cylindrical solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell equations, which are cylindrical waves. In some of these solutions Painleve transcendental functions of type III and V appear. There are maxima in the electromagnetic energy density.

Physical properties of an exact spherically symmetric solution with shear in general relativity
General Relativity and Gravitation, 1992The properties of an exact spherically symmetric perfect fluid solution obtained in non-comoving coordinates are examined. This solution contains shear, and the pressure and the density are positive in the interior of the fluid. Their respective gradients with respect to comoving radial coordinate are equal and negative, and the speed of sound in this ...

Generation of new exact solutions for a charged radiative fluid sphere in general relativity
2002Summary: Solutions of the equations of the relativistic charged perfect fluids are analyzed as relativistic models of a radiating balanced sphere. Using a generation technique given in [4], we reduce the field equations for a spherically symmetric distribution of a radiating or charged perfect fluid to a first order nonlinear differential equation of ...
