This paper describes males of a new species of the cleptoparasitic euglossine genus Exaerete Hoffmannsegg. Exaerete guaykuru Anjos-Silva and Rebêlo new species, was found in the moist forest of Planalto dos Guimarães, located in the Chapada dos Guimarães National Park in southern Mato Grosso, Brazil.
