Backjumping is Exception Handling [PDF]

open access: yesTheory and Practice of Logic Programming, 2020
AbstractISO Prolog provides catch and throw to realize the control flow of exception handling. This pearl demonstrates that catch and throw are inconspicuously amenable to the implementation of backjumping. In fact, they have precisely the semantics required: rewinding the search to a specific point and carrying of a preserved term to that point.

Determining Exception Context in Assembly Operations from Multimodal Data

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Robot assembly tasks can fail due to unpredictable errors and can only continue with the manual intervention of a human operator. Recently, we proposed an exception strategy learning framework based on statistical learning and context determination ...

Studying the evolution of exception handling anti-patterns in a long-lived large-scale project

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Computer Society, 2020
Exception handling is a well-known technique used to improve software robustness. However, recent studies report that developers typically neglect exception handling (mostly novice ones).

The differences of B2C and B2B workflow exception handling

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2005
As business competition is getting stronger companies are seeking good relationships with their clients through the Internet technologies. The type of this relationship (B2Cor B2B) usually dependson the business strategy of this company.

Handling Algebraic Effects [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2013
Algebraic effects are computational effects that can be represented by an equational theory whose operations produce the effects at hand. The free model of this theory induces the expected computational monad for the corresponding effect.

Exception Handling-Based Dynamic Software Watermarking

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Existing algorithms experience difficulty resisting additive and subtractive attacks because the embedded watermarks are independent of the carrier programs. A dynamic software watermarking algorithm based on exception handling is proposed in this paper.

Advanced mechanisms for service combination and transactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Languages and models for service-oriented applications usually include primitives and constructs for exception and compensation handling. Exception handling is used to react to unexpected events while compensation handling is used to undo previously ...

Regulating Companion Dog Welfare: A Comparative Study of Legal Frameworks in Western Countries

open access: yesAnimals, 2021
There appear to be growing concerns among experts, NGOs, and members of the public about the welfare of companion dogs. With farm and laboratory animals, legislative initiatives have long been considered valuable tools in the management of welfare ...
