Στην παρούσα εργασία γίνεται μια προσπάθεια ανίχνευσης και στατιστικής ανάλυσης του θερινού καύσωνα του 2019 σε 20 Ευρωπαϊκά αστικά κέντρα μέσω εφαρμογής του σύγχρονου δείκτη καύσωνα Excess Heat Factor (EHF). Κύριος στόχος είναι η συσχέτιση των χαρακτηριστικών του συγκεκριμένου καύσωνα με τις δυσμενείς επιπτώσεις που τυχόν προξένησε στον άνθρωπο.
