Journal of Symbolic Logic, 2001
AbstractIn this paper, we show by a proof-theoretical argument that in a logic without structural rules, that is in noncommutative linear logic with exponentials, every formula A for which exchange rules (and weakening and contraction as well) are admissible is provably equivalent to? A.

The desirability of including more material on radiation exchange in introductory physics courses is discussed. The theory of radiation exchange is presented along with the development of the concepts of radiance and field of view. A simple lecture demonstration showing that everything is radiating is discussed.

Exchange and Exchange Relationships
2004Human being is living within a cognitive space that makes perception and interpretation of a certain reality possible (Schmid 2000). This enables them to realize a manifold of what could be comparing to what is and forces the rise of demands and wants through an evaluation of the difference.

Biquadratic Exchange and Spin Exchange
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1973Calculations have been made of the effect of modifying the usual Heisenberg‐Dirac exchange operator, −2JΣSi.Sj, in two different ways: (1) Including a biquadratic exchange term −2αJΣ(Si.Sj)2, whose strength depends on α. (2) Using the more general spin exchange operator of Schrodinger for spin ≥1, ΣAn (Si.Sj)n, with n summed from zero to twice the spin.

In this debate Mark Bevir and Frank Ankersmit continue their discussion of Bevir's The Logic of the History of Ideas. There are two related areas of contention: 1) the notion of intention and its use for a correct understanding of the writing of the history of ideas and 2) the question how deep the (ontological and/or epistemological) gap runs ...

Exchange Rates and Exchange Controls
1987A currency crisis, which would normally and inevitably follow as balance of payments difficulties loom was only held back in early 1987 by a combination of the highest real interest rates in our history (and in the developed world) and a number of fortuitious circumstances that cannot last — an OPEC price increase, chaos inside the EMS and dollar ...

This chapter elaborates Kōjin Karatani’s “Borromean knot”: How he thinks that religion, nation, state, and exchange are all—for better or for worse—interrelated. In doing so, it also considers how these three persist in light of one another and how notions such as religion, secularism, and political theology must thereby be rethought, given their ...

H.D.'s Tribute to Freud, a 1956 account of her analysis in the 1930s, posits two kinds of time. One is an intractable temporality that she calls “clock-time,” the unceasing movement of history toward a traumatic future—above all, the threat of Sigmund Freud's impending death and the encroachment of the Nazis on Vienna. Against this murderous imposition,
