Long-range exchange interactions

Physica B+C, 1977
Abstract Experiment indicates that rather long-range exchange interactions and supertransferred hyperfine fields are present in some semiconductors. We discuss a model in which a d state interacts with a fully occupied band. Special band structures have been chosen to illustrate the dependence on the various parameters.

Competing Exchange Interactions in Magnetic Multilayers

Physical Review Letters, 2006
We have studied alloying of the nonmagnetic spacer layer with a magnetic material as a method of tuning the interlayer coupling in magnetic multilayers. We have specifically studied the Fe/V(100) system by alloying the spacer V with various amounts of Fe.

Superconductivity from Antiferromagnetic Exchange Interactions

Physical Review Letters, 1987
It is shown that the effective antiferromagnetic exchange interaction associated with the Hubbard model of a metal can give rise to antiferromagnetism and superconductivity simultaneously. This is a suggested model for the newly discovered high-temperature superconductors.

Exchange interactions in BaFe12O19

Applied Physics A Solids and Surfaces, 1986
In the scope of the mean field approximation the nine nearest neighbour exchange interactions existing among the ferric ions in BaFe12O19 hexagonal ferrite have been determined from the experimental sublattice magnetizations. It is shown that these exchange interactions are well explained by means of the superexchange theory.

Exchange Interactions I: Mechanisms

1996
A most important phenomenon in molecular magnetism is the exchange interaction between magnetic centers. Its relevance as well as the terms and concepts required to its rationalization were stated long ago by physicists working in the quantum-mechanical theory of magnetism (Heisenberg, Dirac, van Vleck, Anderson, Zener, and many others).

Exchange interactions in magnets

Physica B: Condensed Matter, 1997
Abstract We present results of a general approach for the calculation of different magnetic interaction parameters for arbitrary systems of magnetic moments. The method is implemented within the density functional approach and some illustrative examples are presented to demonstrate the flexibility and usefulness of the proposed method.

Exchange interactions in insulators

Physica B+C, 1977
Abstract Exchange perturbation theory of the Rayleigh-Schrodinger type is applied to the problem of magnetic ordering in 3d-cation solids at low temperatures, on the basis of an effective-electron model with Slater- or Gaussian-type spherically symmetric orbitals in zeroth order.

Two-Pion Exchange Interaction

Physical Review Letters, 1961
Comparisons of Gupta's two-pion-exchange potential with the one-pion- exchange potential were made by using dispersion relations. Tables are presented for the combined effects of V/sub 2/ and V/sub 4/ (second and fourth order potentials) and one-pion and two-pion exchange effects for YLAM (T = 1) and YLAN3M (T = 0). (D.L.C.)

Interaction $$=$$ Exchange of Quanta

2020
Interaction between a particle with a potential or between two particles illustrates the fundamental fact of quantum theory that exchange of a quantum leads to interaction.
