Functionalized Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles Enhance Penetration into Melanoma Spheroids In Vivo through Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Melanoma cell spheroid engraftment is optimized in the chicken chorioallantoic membrane overcoming the complexity of other in vivo models. Using this model, greater penetration of cerium oxide nanoparticles (nanoceria) functionalized with heparin in spheroids is observed via enhancement of vascularization than nanoceria alone.

The Impact of Exchange Rate Regime on Interest Rates in Latin America [PDF]

open access: yes
We develop a theoretical framework to study the impact of the exchange rate regime in the interest rate determination. Using VECM, we assess the role of both domestic conditions and US factors in the determination of eight Latin-American countries ...

Nano‐Topography Enhanced Topological‐Cell‐Analysis in Radiation‐Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy, a treatment that implies exposition of cells to radiation, offers promise to treat cancer. Here, it is hypothesized that the nanoscale details of a scaffold can amplify the response of cells to radiation, measured through topological variables, providing ways to assess the efficacy of Radiotherapy treatment.

The Mirage of Exchange Rate Regimes for Emerging Market Countries [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper argues that much of the debate on choosing an exchange rate regime misses the boat. It begins by discussing the standard theory of choice between exchange rate regimes, and then explores the weaknesses in this theory, especially when it is ...

Enhancing Form Stability: Shrink‐Resistant Hydrogels Made of Interpenetrating Networks of Recombinant Spider Silk and Collagen‐I

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A shrinkage‐resistant hydrogel is developed to confer post‐fabrication shape fidelity. The hydrogel, based on recombinant spider silk protein eADF4(C16)‐RGD and collagen‐I, exhibits tunable mechanical properties and shrink‐resistance in the presence of fibroblasts as well as muscle cells.
