Collapsing exchange rate regimes

Abstract The paper develops models of speculative runs and collapse of fixed exchange rate regimes which result from credit policies that are ultimately inconsistent with a fixed exchange rate. While no substantially new results are offered, the formulation itself is of interest in highlighting the important ideas that have emerged in this area.
