Copper‐based Materials for Photo and Electrocatalytic Process: Advancing Renewable Energy and Environmental Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cu‐based catalysts as a cornerstone in advancing sustainable energy technologies are fully reviewed in this manuscript, highlighting their potential in photo‐ and electrocatalysis. It includes metallic copper, copper oxides, copper sulfides, copper halide perovskites, copper‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), and covalent organic frameworks (COFs),

Do Price Controls Stabilize Exchange Rate?

open access: yesAsian Economics Letters
Price controls carry dual objectives: namely, enhancement of consumer and producer welfare and, as a result, macroeconomic stability. In this note, we explore whether price control policies, as led by the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission, has reduced Fiji’s exchange rate volatility.

Trilemma Stability and International Macroeconomic Archetypes in Developing Economies [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we examine the stability of international macroeconomic policies of developing countries in the post-Bretton Woods period. We use the simple geometry of the classic, open-economy trilemma to construct a new, univariate measure of inter ...

MnI‐Functionalized Covalent Organic Framework as Efficient Electrocatalyst for CO2 Reduction in a Catholyte‐Free Zero‐Gap Electrolyzer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Engineering Porous Hollow Metal‐Poly(Heptazine Imide) Spheres: An Optimized Synthetic Strategy for Controlling Surface, Morphology, and Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hollow poly(heptazine imide) spheres are prepared through a novel approach that integrates hard templating with ionothermal synthesis. This method enables precise control over surface area, pore volume, hydrophilicity, light absorption, band position, and metal composition. These tunable properties facilitate the customized design of semiconductors for

Why intervention rarely works [PDF]

open access: yes
Foreign-exchange-market intervention is generally ineffective when undertaken independent of monetary policy. But when undertaken as a goal of monetary policy, exchange-rate management can compromise price stability. This Economic Commentary explains the

Pentagonal 2D Altermagnets: Material Screening and Altermagnetic Tunneling Junction Device Application

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
From a database of 170 pentagonal 2D materials, 4 candidates exhibiting altermagnetic ordering are screened. Furthermore, the spin‐splitting and unconventional boundary states in the pentagonal 2D altermagnetic monolayer MnS2 are investigated. A MnS2‐based altermagnetic tunneling junction is designed and, through ab initio quantum transport simulations,

De jure versus de facto Exchange Rate Stabilization in Central and Eastern Europe [PDF]

open access: yes
The IMF classifications of the Central and Eastern European (CEE) exchange rate arrange-ments are heterogeneous. While one group of countries reports tight pegs to the euro, a second group seems to have moved toward (more) exchange rate flexibility ...
