« … ad portum, cui nomen est Quaentavic » : le vicus portuaire mérovingien et carolingien de la Canche

open access: yesLes Nouvelles de l’Archéologie, 2019
Historical, geomorphological, environmental and archaeological studies combined in the Quentovic research project permit to observe the evolution of the shoreline, the sand or pebbles bars and the meanders of the Canche, little coastal river of the ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Metformin promotes mitochondrial integrity through AMPK‐signaling in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Metformin mediates mitochondrial quality control in Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) fibroblasts carrying mtDNA mutations. At therapeutic levels, metformin activates AMPK signaling to restore mitochondrial dynamics by promoting fusion and restraining fission, while preserving mitochondrial mass, enhancing autophagy/mitophagy and biogenesis ...

Competition between exchanges : Euronext versus Xetra [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Exchanges in Europe are in a process of consolidation. After the failure of the proposed merger between Deutsche Börse and Euronext, these two groups are likely to become the nuclei for further mergers and co-operation with currently independent ...

Number of orbits of Discrete Interval Exchanges

open access: yes, 2019
A new recursive function on discrete interval exchange transformation associated to a composition of length $r$, and the permutation $\sigma(i) = r -i +1$ is defined.

Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.

Overcoming financing constraints to corporate expansion: evidence from a company in an emerging Islamic market [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The sourcing of low-cost finance to facilitate corporate expansion on competitive terms is a major challenge to firms from emerging markets. There are additional constraints in Islamic markets as financial instruments must adhere to shari’ya law.

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

A statistical view on exchanges in Quickselect

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we study the number of key exchanges required by Hoare's FIND algorithm (also called Quickselect) when operating on a uniformly distributed random permutation and selecting an independent uniformly distributed rank.
