AN OPEN RESONATOR LOADED WITH A RECTANGULAR WAVEGUIDE SECTION
A hemispherical open resonator with a rectangular waveguide section mounted at the center of the open resonator plane mirror is considered. A theoretical analysis has been made to find out that the excitation efficiency of the waveguide wave TE10 excited

Efficient two-photon excitation by photonic dimers
In this Letter, we show that photonic dimers, the quantum mechanical bound states of two photons, enable efficient nonlinear two-photon excitation, primarily due to the Lorentzian energy anti-correlation and to the temporal proximity between the constituent photons.

Feasibility Study and Prospects of Rock Fragmentation Using Ultrasonic Vibration Excitation
This paper systematically examines the feasibility of using ultrasonic vibration excitation for rock breakage and fragmentation; it focuses on the failure mechanisms of rock mass under the impact of ultrasonic waves, and the development of ultrasonic ...

In the anti-Stokes excitation of trivalent rare-earth ions (RE3+), the excitation photons energy is smaller than that of a given absorption transition, and the energy mismatch can be compensated by phonons annihilation from the host lattice.

Efficient unidirectional ridge excitation of surface plasmons
Using leakage-radiation microscopy, we characterize the efficiency of unidirectional surface-plasmon excitation with periodic (800 nm) arrays of 130-nm-high and 330-nm-wide gold ridges on a thin gold film illuminated with a focused (5-microm-wide) laser beam.

Power Summation in an Open Resonator with Aperture Coupling Elements
The paper considers the powers summation of two sources in a hemispherical open resonator (OR). A scheme with a E- tee waveguide was used. The study was carried out in the four-millimeter wavelength range.

Motional effects on the efficiency of excitation transfer
Energy transfer plays a vital role in many natural and technological processes. In this work, we study the effects of mechanical motion on the excitation transfer through a chain of interacting molecules with application to biological scenarios of transfer processes. Our investigation demonstrates that, for various types of mechanical oscillations, the
