Exciton-exciton annihilation in organic lanthanide complexes
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2010We have investigated the mechanism of exciton-exciton annihilation in organic lanthanide complexes by measuring the excitation density dependence of photoluminescence yield in neat films of a model europium chelate. The observed luminescence efficiency reduction at high excitation intensities has been attributed to the operation of the mutual ...

Exciton-Exciton Correlation in the Nonlinear Optical Regime
Physical Review Letters, 1995We present a theory of the time development of the nonlinear optical excitations in a semiconductor in which the correlated part of the many-body problem is expressed in terms of the exact $N$-exciton eigenstates and is decoupled from the optical excitation process.

Control of Exciton Fluxes in an Excitonic Integrated Circuit
Science, 2008Efficient signal communication uses photons. Signal processing, however, uses an optically inactive medium, electrons. Therefore, an interconnection between electronic signal processing and optical communication is required at the integrated circuit level. We demonstrated control of exciton fluxes in an excitonic integrated circuit.

Reduced exciton-exciton scattering in quantum wires
Journal of Luminescence, 1993A nonthermal, quasimonoenergetic exciton distribution is observed in time-resolved photoluminescence measurements up to 150 ps after excitation if a quantum wire is excited resonantly and with low excitation density of 10 2 cm -1 . The scattering rate increases only slowly with increasing exciton density.

Exciton-exciton “collisions” in crystals
Czechoslovak Journal of Physics, 1966The paper represents a theoretical examination of the process of the creation of a free electron in the conduction band and a free hole in the valence band from two excitons of the Wannier-Mott type under the influence of an electrostatic correlation interaction of valence electrons in dielectric and semi-conducting crystals. It can be seen that such a

Direct Measurement of Exciton-Exciton Interaction Energy
Physical Review Letters, 2009We report a direct measurement of the spectral function (real and imaginary self-energy) of excitons with a repulsive interaction potential. These results allow a stringent test of many-body theories of the exciton-exciton interaction which is independent of the exciton density calibration.

Effect of exciton hopping upon the mass of an exciton
Physical Review B, 1985A plausible formula derived in a previous paper for the mass ${M}_{n}^{\mathrm{*}}$ of an exciton in an nth bound state of the electron-hole binding potential is extended so as to include the effect of an exciton-hopping (or Heller-Marcus) mechanism upon ${M}_{n}^{\mathrm{*}}$.

Singlet exciton diffusion in MEH-PPV films studied by exciton–exciton annihilation
Organic Electronics, 2006We report time-resolved photoluminescence studies in MEH-PPV films for a wide range of excitation intensities. The results fit well to a diffusion-limited exciton-exciton annihilation model with an annihilation constant gamma = (2.8 0.5) x 10(-8) cm(3) s(-1). This enables us to estimate the exciton diffusion coefficient to be D = (3 1) x 10(-3) cm(2) s(

Exciton-exciton annihilation and exciton kinetics in poly(di-n-hexylsilane)
Physical Review B, 1993We have found that charge carriers can be generated by exciton-exciton annihilation in solid films of poly(di-[ital n]-hexylsilane). We use this phenomenon to study the kinetics of excitons at ambient temperature and show that the rate constant for exciton-exciton annihilation [gamma] is 2[times]10[sup [minus]7] cm[sup 3] s[sup [minus]1], in excellent ...
