Ionic Metal Poly(heptazine Imides) and Single‐Atoms Interplay: Engineered Stability and Performance for Photocatalysis, Photoelectrocatalysis and Organic Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Poly(heptazine) imides (PHIs), a crystalline carbon nitride subclass, intercalate metals to deliver high stability, tunable electronics, and efficient charge separation. These features enable solar‐driven applications such as hydrogen evolution, CO₂ reduction, and organic synthesis.

Protective effects of physical activity on episodic memory during aging are explained by executive functioning

open access: yesEuropean Review of Aging and Physical Activity
Aging is marked by a memory decline related to an executive function decline. Physical activity (PA) has beneficial effects on both executive functions and memory, especially in aging.

Transient Stiffness Patterning in Hydrogels Driven by Dissipative Mechanochemical Coupling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Force‐induced disulfide bond rupture in a polymer‐based hydrogel, coupled with chemical or electrochemical reoxidation, leads to the transient modulation of the hydrogel's stiffness properties. High spatiotemporal control is achieved by this dissipative process, enabling the development of out‐of‐equilibrium stiffness patterns and transient, dose ...

Effects of dance therapy on balance, gait and neuro-psychological performances in patients with Parkinson's disease and postural instability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Postural Instability (PI) is a core feature of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and a major cause of falls and disabilities. Impairment of executive functions has been called as an aggravating factor on motor performances. Dance therapy has been shown effective

Fully Bio‐Based Epoxy Resins from Liquefied Wood for Chemically Recyclable Wood Coatings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bio‐based and chemically recyclable epoxy resin derived from liquefied wood and its use in wood coatings is presented. The resin exhibits mechanical, thermal, and water‐resistant properties comparable to commercial coatings and can be chemically recycled and reused. This approach provides fast access to glossy and fully biobased durable wood coatings

Public Confidence in the Judiciary: Some Notes and Reflections [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
Persons with intellectual disability have been found to perform more poorly on tasks, demanding the use of executive functions like planning, than their peers. This study investigated difficulties with planning, and how problems with planning ability can

Evidence for a competitive relationship between executive functions and statistical learning

open access: yesnpj Science of Learning
The ability of the brain to extract patterns from the environment and predict future events, known as statistical learning, has been proposed to interact in a competitive manner with prefrontal lobe-related networks and their characteristic cognitive or ...
