Microbial exopolysaccharide production by polyextremophiles in the adaptation to multiple extremes
Polyextremophiles are microorganisms that endure multiple extreme conditions by various adaptation strategies that also include the production of exopolysaccharides (EPSs). This review provides an integrated perspective on EPS biosynthesis, function, and regulation in these organisms, emphasizing their critical role in survival and highlighting their ...

Nicotinamide (NIC) and nicotinic acid (NIA) are proposed as stress signaling compounds in plants. Oxidative stress may lead to single strand breaks (SSB) in DNA, which activate poly(ADP‐ribose) polymerase (PARP). NIC and NIA are then formed from NAD. NIC and NIA can promote epigenetic changes leading to the expression of defense genes specific for the ...

Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.

The effectiveness of orally applied L-menthol on exercise performance in the heat [PDF]
During exercise in the heat, increasing thermal load leads to thermo-behavioural adjustments in exercise performance, due to greater perceptual and physiological strain.

A working model for cytoplasmic assembly of H/ACA snoRNPs
Dyskerin is the component of nuclear H/ACA ribonucleoproteins (RNPs) endowed with pseudouridine synthase catalytic activity. Two isoforms of human dyskerin have been characterized: the abundant Iso1, mainly nuclear, and the shorter Iso3, mainly cytoplasmic but occasionally imported into nuclei.

Cell‐free DNA aneuploidy score as a dynamic early response marker in prostate cancer
mFast‐SeqS‐based genome‐wide aneuploidy scores are concordant with aneuploidy scores obtained by whole genome sequencing from tumor tissue and can predict response to ARSI treatment at baseline and, at an early time point, to ARSI and taxanes. This assay can be easily performed at low cost and requires little input of cfDNA. Cell‐free circulating tumor

Motivation Contagion When Instructing Obese Individuals: A Test in Exercise Settings [PDF]
We examined motivation contagion in a hypothetical exercise setting. Exercise science students (n = 164) were provided with quotes of hypothetical male and female obese exercisers displaying different quality of motivation to start an exercise program ...
