Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Effect on Cardiogoniometry Characteristic in Patients with Coronary Heart Disease

open access: yesResearch in Cardiovascular Medicine
Context: Cardiogoniometry (CGM) is a noninvasive technique for quantitative three-dimensional vectorial analysis of myocardial depolarization and repolarization.

Freqüência cardíaca máxima em testes de exercício em esteira rolante e em cicloergômetro de membros inferiores Maximal heart rate in exercise tests on treadmill and in a cycloergometer of lower limbs

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Comparison of distance covered, physiological cost, and perceived exertion in four six-minute walk test protocols

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
Objective: There is evidence that indicates that the Walked Distance (WD) in the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT) would be sensitive to the type of track and encouragement. The aim of study was compared the impact of track type and verbal encouragement provided

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Predicting Heart Rate Slow Component Dynamics: A Model Across Exercise Intensities, Age, and Sex

open access: yesSports
The heart rate slow component (scHR) is an intensity-dependent HR increment that emerges during constant exercises, partially dissociated from metabolism (V˙O2).

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Assessment of Beep Test Performance and Cardiorespiratory Endurance in Young Footballers: A Cross-sectional Study in the UAE

open access: yesDubai Medical Journal
Aim: The study aims to examine the Beep test performance and the cardiorespiratory endurance among young footballers in the United Arab Emirates while also analyzing the correlations of lower limb muscle strength (quadriceps, hamstrings, and calf muscle)

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
