Recent developments in exergy analysis and exergoeconomics
International Journal of Exergy, 2008In advanced exergy analysis, the exergy destruction within a component of an energy conversion system can be split into avoidable/unavoidable exergy destruction and endogenous/exogenous exergy destruction. A combination of these two concepts provides accurate information with respect to improving the overall system efficiency.

Application of exergoeconomics to the analysis and optimization of process systems
Journal of Thermal Science, 1996The definitions and purposes of energy systems and process systems are compared in this paper by considering the role of energy in systems with emphasis on the differences in the methods used to optimize the exergoeconomic benefits of both types of systems.

Analysis of Some Exergoeconomic Parameters of Small Wind Turbine System
International Journal of Green Energy, 2009This paper investigates some exergoeconomic parameters (energy and exergy loss ratios) for a 1.5 kW wind turbine system, linking capital costs and thermodynamic losses, based on some operating conditions. The results show that while the ratio of energy loss rate to capital cost (Ren) changes between 0.007 and 0.813 at different wind speeds, the ratio ...

Exergoeconomic Analysis of an Advanced Zero Emission Plant
Volume 6: Emerging Technologies: Alternative Energy Systems; Energy Systems: Analysis, Thermodynamics and Sustainability, 2009Exergy-based methods are reliable means for the comparison and the evaluation of the operation of energy conversion systems. In this paper, the Advanced Zero Emission Plant, a plant that performs combustion in a nitrogen-free environment (oxy-fuel combustion) is presented, compared to a reference plant (without CO2 capture) and evaluated based on an ...

Exergoeconomic methodology for analysis and optimization of process systems
Computers & Chemical Engineering, 2000Abstract This paper describes the progress of a systematic exergoeconomic methodology for analysis and optimization of process systems. Based on the three-link-model, by applying a reversed exergy costing method to process systems, a hierarchical exergoeconomic model is developed and the decomposing-coordinating optimization strategy is introduced to
