Energy, exergy, economic, and exergoeconomic analyses and optimization of a solar Kalina cycle using particle swarm optimization algorithm

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X, 2023
In the present research, a Kalina cycle has been analyzed from the energy, exergy, economic and exergoeconomic points of view. In this cycle, the water-ammonia solution is used as the working fluid. Firstly, the mass balance, energy, and exergy equations

Techno‐Economic Analysis and Multi‐Objective Optimization of a Novel Combined Cooling and Power System Driven by Geothermal Source and Waste Heat From Data Center

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
A novel combined cooling and power generation system is proposed by integrating organic Rankine cycle (ORC) with an absorption heat transformer, which is driven by combining geothermal energy and data center's waste heat. The system using R601a yielded the best overall performance, achieving an exergy efficiency of 40.34% and an annual cost of 130.29 k$

An application of exergoeconomic analysis for a CHP system

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, 2012
Abstract The exergoeconomic analysis is one of the most used exergy sub-methods that combine exergy analysis with economic analysis. Based on a previous exergetic analysis of a combined heat and power (CHP) system which has a total installed electricity and steam generation capacities of 11.52 MW and 9.0 tons/h at 140 °C respectively, this study ...

EXERGOECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF A PHOTOVOLTAIC ARRAY AFFECTED BY DYNAMIC SHADING

open access: yesJournal of Scientific Reports-A, 2023
Photovoltaic (PV) panels are affected by undesirable elements that exist around them, trees, structures, clouds, etc., as well as natural dirt, and dust accumulation on the PV surfaces. Unfortunately, partial shading falling on top of the PV panels may affect badly the output of photovoltaic arrays.

Design and Optimization of a Novel Kalina‐Organic Rankine Cycle System Based on LNG Cold Energy Utilization

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 21, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel integrated system (SDKC‐DORC) that combines a split‐flow dual‐pressure Kalina cycle with a secondary organic Rankine cycle for the synergistic utilization of solar energy and liquefied natural gas (LNG) cold energy.

Techno‐Economic Analysis of Hydrocarbon‐CO2 Binary Mixtures in Heat Pump‐Based Thermal Energy Storages

open access: yesEnergy Technology, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
Heat‐pump charging of Carnot batteries with zeotropic large temperature glide CO2–alkane mixtures enables charging from ambient to ≈398.15 K with improved heat‐exchanger temperature matching at moderate pressure ratios. The highest COP occurs near xCO2 ≈ 0.15, whereas cost and throttling losses rise monotonically with CO2 content; butane isomers ...

Exergoeconomic Analysis of a Syngas Micro Turbine Cogeneration System

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2018
One of the main challenges in the chemical industry is to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and the emission of greenhouse gases through the use of renewable raw materials. The International Energy Agency (IEA) has identified biomass as the future technology to mitigate this effect, which can be achieved through the use of synthesis gases (Syngas) as ...

Exergoeconomic Analysis of Plum Drying in a Heat Pump Conveyor Dryer [PDF]

open access: yesDrying Technology, 2010
In this study, plum slices were dried in a heat pump dryer designed and constructed in Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. Drying experiments were carried out at an air temperature range of 45–55°C. The performance of the dryer along with its main components were evaluated using an exergy analysis method.
