Energy, exergy, exergoeconomics, and exergoenvironmental assessment of three brine recycle humidification-dehumidification desalination systems applicable for industrial wastewater treatment

, 2020
Using zero liquid discharge systems is one of the efficient methods to reduce the negative environmental impact of the brines of the desalination systems and also to recycle the industrial wastewaters for reuse. Due to the simple fabrication process, low

Second-Law Analysis and Exergoeconomics Optimization of a Solar Tower–Driven Combined-Cycle Power Plant Using Supercritical CO2

Journal of Energy Engineering, 2018
This paper presents a framework for the first and second law analysis and an exergoeconomic optimization of a solar tower power plant using supercritical CO2, integrated with a combined cyc...

Exergoeconomic analysis of thermal systems

Energy, 1998
A combination of exergetic and economic analysis for complex energy systems is proposed. We derive a general cost-balance equation which can be applied to any component of a thermal system. In this study, the exergy of a material stream is decomposed into thermal, mechanical and chemical exergy flows and an entropy-production flow.

Multi-objective optimization of a proposed multi-generation cycle based on Pareto diagrams: Performance improvement, cost reduction, and CO2 emissions

, 2021
Energy system optimization is a significant task aimed at optimizing system operations and reducing costs and emissions. In this paper, an energy system is presented for multi-energy generation of power, heating/cooling, and desalination.
